1) Check the official network name with the staff
2) Avoid wifi that asks you to log in through an email or social media account. Use your data if you can.
3) Always use a VPN – I use ProtonVPN – this will ensure that your web activities, sensitive info are encrypted or hidden when travelling through the internet.
